[ CHARACTER INFORMATION ]
Name: Kid
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Canon: Chrono Cross
Timeline: Right after getting stabbed by Dark Serge in Fort Dragonia.

Character History:
Kid @ Chronopedia: http://chrono.wikia.com/wiki/Kid

Character Personality:
First and foremost, Kid is a rowdy, reckless, loud-mouthed girl who gets what she wants, when she wants it. And if you don't give it to her, she'll just take it. She fancies herself to be a Robin Hood sort of character, defying authority at every turn, going out of her way to protect the weak, and showing absolutely no mercy or sympathy for the strong. Most of her time is spent wandering the world, lusting for revenge on the people who killed her orphanage family. She is an expert thief and a ruthless fighter, which serves her rough and tumble lifestyle well. Kid enjoys a challenge, and is determined and confident enough to take each and every one that comes her way.

She's generally nice unless you give her a reason not to be, but she has a lot of negative qualities, too. Kid is unreasonably aggressive, she's confrontational, easily jealous, extremely impatient, and a kleptomaniac to boot. Her cockiness and constant taunting riles people up, and gets her into trouble more often than not. Some of the same traits also draw people to her. You'll love her or hate her, and she's fine with that.

For someone who's spent so much of her life living on the streets and itching for revenge, Kid is surprisingly friendly and outgoing. She jokes, she teases, she even flirts, and you don't have to know her for very long before she starts acting familiar and considering you a mate. She'll do anything to help out a friend, even if she asks something in return. She even displays some unexpected motherly instinct when a girl named Mel steals her equipment when Kid is hospitalized. Seeing a lot of herself in the girl, she doesn't get mad, but mentors her in the ways of outstanding thievery, instead. Despite her friendliness, she's careful letting people get too close, because her nomadic lifestyle and her cynical outlook both tell her that they won't be around for long.

Her experiences have given her a bleak worldview. She doesn't believe in guardian angels, karma, or luck, she always just makes it by the skin of her teeth. Nice guys finish last, according to Kid, but she sure as hell isn't happy about it. Good people exist, but they are rare, and they never make it very far. She does bad things because she has to, not because she wants to. She's an "ends justify the means" kind of girl, but it doesn't mean she's heartless. When she takes another girl hostage by knifepoint, she makes a very convincing and effective show of it, but whispers into her ear that she won't hurt her the entire time. "There ain't nothin' dirty about savin' your own life," she says, and she'll do anything to make it happen.

Still, she is a genuinely fun-loving individual. Kid speaks with an exaggerated accent and a lot of slang, she likes games and music and all the other things that would occupy a regular teenage girl. It's nice to forget the bad things sometimes and just act like a kid.

Character Abilities you would like to expand on further:
Kid's most prominent ability is her skill as a thief. She's been making a living off of stealing since she was eleven, and had some pretty sticky fingers before that. She possesses a host of skills that would naturally accompany thievery, such as picking locks, breaking into things, stealth, lying, and hiding. Her skill put her at the forefront of the famous band of thieves, the Radical Dreamers. She has a good singing voice, according to one alternate ending. Her other abilities include an impeccable aim, higher than average physical strength and agility, and resistance against fire.

Character Weaknesses you would like to expand on further:
One of her biggest weaknesses is her big mouth. She has no idea when to shut it, and it gets her in trouble pretty often. When she's made up her mind, she's done: no second-thoughts, other points of view, or discussions. Kid's got a lot of street smarts, but when it comes to knowing anything else, well...she doesn't. She has a weakness towards water and ice-based attacks.

[ SOUL CAMPAIGN SECTION ]

What abilities will your character retain in Soul Campaign? Bullet-form is fine.
She should keep all of her skills and abilities except for her tolerance towards fire.

What weaknesses will your character lose or gain in Soul Campaign? Bullet-form is fine.
Moving to Death City should leave her mostly unaffected, with the exception of her weakness towards ice and water. That game mechanic won't transfer, however, she won't be too happy about colder temperatures.

The wish Death the Kid made to the BREW in 2009 was to “rescue Death City and stop the waves of Madness from overtaking the world.” By whatever means necessary. Pretend you are the BREW. Why would you choose to bring this character to Death City?
Bringing Kid to Death City is a good choice because she's tough, she's enthusiastic, and she'll be willing to help (for a price!). Just about anything Death City can throw at her, she's seen it before. Alternate dimensions, wars, monsters, talking vegetables, you name it. She should be able to adapt well and prosper.

If your character has difficulty verbally communicating or can’t verbally communicate at all (mute or non-humanoid), elaborate on how this will be treated in the game.

[ MEISTER ONLY SECTION ]

Why is your character a Meister and not a Weapon?
Kid suits the role of Meister instead of Weapon because of her intense, headstrong nature. She's a decision maker. She's quick on her feet and always on the move. As someone who normally doesn't even live in the same place for more than a few weeks, she couldn't possibly stay in a single form during battle. Kid wants to be the one rushing, jumping, and screaming. Her approach to combat makes her a good choice for a Meister and a poor one for a Weapon.

What is your character’s Meister Ability? Why?

Soul Determination - No matter how often things seem hopeless and she's on the brink of death, she's always back for more. Whether she's left to die, struck by an incurable poison, stuck in a fire, or run through with her own dagger, she's damn near impossible to kill.

[ SOUL INFORMATION ]

Describe your character’s soul with six adjectives.
Abrasive, lonely, confident, bitter, enthusiastic, mischievous

What does your character’s soul look like? Be creative.
Kid's soul is a yellow ball with big eyes and a troublemaker's grin on her face. It has a ponytail, which is separated into several parts. There are marks on both sides of its face, near its mouth, that have the appearance of war paint.

[ SAMPLES ]

Provide a First Person style sample in the form of a post to the DEMISE network.
[The communicator is upside down. Then rightside up. Then upside down. The blonde teen on the other end turns it the right way again, putting it close to her face, and then finally, holding it at a reasonable distance and angle. She stares at it for a few moments, and then tilts her head back with a giant laugh. She speaks with a thick Australian accent, despite the fact that Australia doesn't...exist, in her world. Go figure.]

This thing is great! I can really talk to everyone through this? Wish I had one a these buggers in me other world, I bet some rich ole coot would pay a bunch for it!

Anyway. I ain't new to this whole alternate dimensions thing. But I gotta say, this one seems pretty damn nice. And I ain't sayin' that cuz I'm a brown noser, either, you guys went and hooked us up. Free place, free food, ya don't have to jump through any hoops or rip off anyone or nothing. Back in me own world ya don't get shit for free, unless ya got sticky fingers.

I was kinda in the middle a somethin' when ya brought me here. The weird thing is, I don't remember what I was doin. That beer machine mighta knocked me out, messed with me head. Someone stuck somethin' through me, though.

[And she moves the camera towards her stomach. Since she doesn't really wear real clothes, you can see the bandages.]

Looks like somebody was trying to do me in. Nobody gonna kill The Great Kid, so quit wastin' yer time!

Ah, yeah, before I go. What's the best way to make some money around here? None of that "ya gotta show up all day, every day" business, I'm lookin' for somethin' good.

Provide a Third Person sample set during the last minutes on their world and/or their first few moments in the Kishin Chamber.

It could be over.

Five years of anger, of bitterness, of desperate searching and revenge-fueled fantasy, it could all be over right now. That half-cat, half-human monster that had caused her so much trouble was laying on the ground before her, broken and defeated. The only thing left was to finish him off. She'd been waiting for this, so why was she so hesitant?

Maybe it was the way Serge was talking to her, like he knew something he shouldn't. Or the way Leena was staring at her like it was a goddamn spectacle. Maybe it was the way Lynx looked at her, with sadness and confusion instead of the usual disdain. It could have just been the cold, dark fort rubbing her the wrong way, making the hairs on the back of her neck stand on end and goosebumps pop up along her arms. Regardless of what it was, Kid hesitated, and Serge walked toward her in response.

What happened next was a blur. Whether she lost minutes or days or weeks, she would never be able to tell. When Kid woke up, all she knew was a searing pain in her stomach. Groaning, she looked down through the dark, and was able to make out her midsection covered in bandages. She panics, and reaches for her knife. It was gone. While she was trying to stand up, she wove together a string of profanity a mile long, but none of the other people in the room (and there were a ton of them) seemed to know anything.

"Oi! Where's me damn knife? You got some nerve on you to steal from me! Don't you know I'm the best thief around? I'm gonna catch you!" Kid yelled, walking through the crowd and knocking a few people over in the process. That got some people to turn around, at least. Most people just stared at her, looking just as confused as she was, if they weren't looking at her with annoyance. Damn stuck up assholes, she was gonna have to show them a thing or two...

That thought was sidetracked by the sudden bright lights of the television screens. It was nothing like Kid has ever seen before.

Time for another adventure, then.
